Resolved

Issue: Command ID "Deployment.GetApplicationPoolName" is invalid.

description

Hi,

since the update to CKSDev 1.1 for SP2013 yesterday (04/28/2013), the command "Copy to GAC/BIN" doesn't work anymore. A Messagebox with the message "Command ID 'Deployment.GetApplicationPoolName' is invalid." appears...

I am using
  • Visual Studio Premium 2012 Update 2
  • Windows Server 2012
  • SharePoint Server 2013

Hi,

Have you got other CKSDev versions installed? or just the VS2012 1.1 version?

If you have v2.4 installed it will be clashing.

Hi Wes,

thanks for that advice, I checked for that in Extensions and Updates and indeed, the v2.4 was still installed. After removing and re-installing of the 1.1, it works now.

Thanks again!

Cool.

Hmm... now the shortcut works but there are no more CKSDEV-Items when I'm selecting "Add New Items". And also it's not possible to rebuild because there's an errormessage saying "The Project Item "..." cannot be deployed through a Package".

Now it's just CKS - Dev for Visual Studio 2012 1.1 installed.

This should all be fixed now. Let me know if you still have problems.

Cheers,

Wes

I have the same issue with CKS 1.2 on VS2013. It's all ok on 2012 though.

========== Recycle Selected Project App Pool ==========
EXCEPTION: Command ID 'Deployment.GetApplicationPoolName' is invalid.
========== Recycle All App Pools ==========
EXCEPTION: Command ID 'Deployment.GetAllApplicationPoolNames' is invalid.

What is the deal with this? I also have the same issue with CKS 1.2 on VS 2013.

Any chance to re-open issue? I also have the same problem on VS2013

This issue is not resolved in VS2013.

GillouX wrote Feb 27, 2014 at 9:30 AM

any news on that because it is still not fixed.

It works beautifully in VS 2012 but fails with EXCEPTION: Command ID 'Deployment.GetApplicationPoolName' is invalid. in 2013

Thx

Still not working in VS 2013 :(

Same issue in VS2013, and Version 1.2. Any solutions?

WesHackett wrote Jun 26, 2014 at 9:13 PM

Uninstall 1.2 and only install the vs2013 version 2.0 and let me know if this goes away. 1.2 in vs2013 was just all kinds of broken across various configs so really should be skipped in favour of the new vsix listed as vs2013 2.0

Works fine after uninstalling 1.2 in VisualStudio 2013 :)
