Installation Guide

Here are details about how to install and activate the Community Kit for SharePoint Development Tools Edition.

Installation pre-requisites

Already have a version installed? Then follow the Upgrade guide.

If you are using SharePoint Foundation 2010 then download and install the SharePoint Foundation 2010 version

If you are using SharePoint Server 2010 then download and install the SharePoint Server 2010 version

Installing from within Visual Studio 2010

  1. From the 'Tools' menu select 'Extension Manager'
  2. Select the 'Online Gallery' in the lefthand options
  3. Enter CKS into the search input box
  4. Select the correct version and click 'Download'

Installing from the Visual Studio Gallery

  1. Browse to Visual Studio Gallery
  2. Enter CKS into the search input box
  3. Click the title
  4. Click 'Download'
  5. Choose whether to save or run the VSIX package
    1. If you choose 'Save' double click the VSIX file to install the extension

Installing from CodePlex

CKSDev is not available to download directly from CodePlex to ensure you are notified by the Visual Studio Gallery when we publish new versions.
